Balsam Hill Mixed Berry Festive Wreath Review
We’ve looked at their Christmas trees and how they brighten our indoor rooms, but now want to see if Balsam Hill Wreaths exude the same opulent charm to entryways?
Setup
There’s a hanging loop on the top of the wreath to allow you to mount it directly onto a wall or door, or, as we have done, you can loop fabric through this to hang over a front door - suitable for both indoors and outdoors. A battery compartment to power the LED lights, with an easy to reach knob, is located on the bottom of the wreath, requiring 3xC-type batteries (not included). There's an integrated timer with 8 hours on, 16 hours off, and you can also set the lights to pulse.
Appearance
Available in one size, we’ve now had the 28” Balsam Hill Mixed Berry Festive Wreath hanging on our door for over a week and we can confidently say it’s really durable. Whilst reasonably sheltered underneath a grape vine hanging on our front door, hectic British weather made an impromptu appearance, with racing winds and diagonal rain, and the wreath was unscathed. This is really important, as it’s a decoration you’ll want to put out year after year; and on that note we’d happily hang this at the beginning of the Autumn season as it’s not explicitly Christmassy in theme.
We were extremely impressed with the crispness of the crimson and scarlet berries that glisten in direct sunshine, the fine intricate details in colour hue and texture seen on the plump green foliage and the remarkably lifelike twigs poking out of the sides. Although we're not new to faux wreaths and have a few that we thought were fairly lifelike, these are now put to shame by the level of realism Balsam Hill invest in this design. The arrangement is beautiful too, and the Mixed Berry Wreath has just the correct air of splendour on a Cornish cottage front door, especially with the included combination of its warm white LED lights to greet you on the dark wintry evenings.
Verdict
If you want a versatile indoor and outdoor wreath that is a genuine alternative to the real thing and can be used year after year, we'd happily recommend this Balsam Hill Mixed Berry Festive Wreath. With its glistening red berries and plump lifelike foliage it will add an air of opulence to any front door.
