Thorntons have whipped up a very alluring lineup with their finest Easter eggs inspired by puddings and sweet snacks. The lineup includes four eggs: Hot Cross Bun, Raspberry Cheesecake, Fudge Brownie and the egg we're reviewing today, Thorntons Banoffee Pie Easter Egg.

Design

Unlike most Easter eggs which are covered and hidden with cardboard and foil, Thorntons are proudly exposing this egg to full view within the plastic transparent box. Banana and toffee pieces are displayed as if they're actually hatching from the egg; an element of design that we really admired.

Taste

Luxury and quantity aren't always paired together, but here they definitely are. Upon satisfyingly snapping our way into this egg, we're greeted with thick milk chocolate. Thorntons milk chocolate is smooth and rich by itself, but when combined with crunchy banana pieces and creamy sweet toffee we were treated to a really tasty combo. The flavour of banoffee pie was highly evident as we munched our way through this egg, and those who like sweet items will absolutely love it. The texture is a refreshing change to the standard milk chocolate Easter egg too, although the special Thorntons milk chocolate can still be appreciated in its own right.

Overall

The Thorntons Banoffee Pie Easter Egg should easily last the best part of Easter Day, weighing in at 425g. It's priced at a steep £14.99, but for this you are without doubt obtaining a delicious and novel Easter egg.
